Air source heat is provided from a unit placed outside your home, the heat pump transfers heat from the outside air to water, which heats your rooms via your radiators or underfloor heating. It can also heat water stored in a hot water cylinder for your hot water usage. We pair these systems with the Mixergy smart cylinder which increases energy efficiency. Heat from the air is absorbed into a fluid. This fluid then passes through a heat exchanger into the heat pump, which raises the temperature for distribution throughout the home.

Is an air source heat pump right for you?
Air source heat pumps are suitable to most homes across the UK but there are a few points to consider
You will need an outside wall or ground space for the unit. Depending on whether monobloc or split systems are required means the space required will vary
The two types of air source heat pumps are monobloc and split systems. A monobloc system has all the components in a single outdoor unit, with pipes carrying water to the central heating system and a hot water cylinder inside your home.
A split system separates the components between indoor and outdoor units.
Do you currently have radiators or underfloor heating? If not you will need one of these for the heat pump to work with
Do you have an existing hot water cylinder? Heat pumps do not work like combi boilers, and for hot water output you will require storage for the hot water
